Welcome! I am smiling to myself as I try to craft a sincere and personal welcome to my corporate website. Rather than joining the legion of consultants claiming to be “uniquely qualified”, I will instead offer precisely what you need. I am only interested in providing the services my firm can perform with excellence. CCE specializes in environmental planning and permitting, habitat restoration, and mitigation. Descriptions of staff and projects included on this website illustrate our qualifications in greater detail. I am so grateful to have a profession I savor and enjoy. I work with outstanding people on fascinating assignments that are valuable far beyond my own gratification. When I am not working I am usually chasing after my three children. Sometimes they let me go fishing with "the guys", play my guitar, prepare an extravagant meal for friends, or make wine as an apprentice to much more experienced vintners. There are many reasons to start a company, and probably more reasons not to. At this point in my career I decided to (literally) take ownership of my work environment and commit myself to achieving a sustainable balance between personal and professional pursuits. Many of my friends and colleagues have a similar desire. I find it dangerously easy to become far too busy. During my busiest times I noted that the "virtuous" excess of being overcommitted ultimately impaired the quality of my work as well as my quality of life. I will count my company successful if I can establish and maintain a work environment that offers to everyone the same opportunity I crave: to be reliably excellent without abandoning the people most dear to me. I wrote most of this welcome message when I first founded the company at the start of 2007. I decided to preserve the original message since it conveys my personal values that infuse the way I've set up this business. My little corporate adventure just passed the 1 year milestone, and I'm celebrating as I look back on one of the most satisfying years of my life. Now that I have proven to myself the viability of an uncommon business model, I'm in the mood to share the idea with others. As I look ahead I see an exciting year of growth. Four new colleages joined Cherry Creek Environmental in March 2008, and we will collaborate to develop our plan for continued growth over the coming year.
